The Lowdown on Liquid Diet Plans

All of us are aware of the fact that our bodies need fluids to survive. It is a medically proven fact that while the body can survive for days at end without solids, it is nearly impossible to survive without liquids. It is therefore that liquid diets have taken the world of dieters by storm, as liquid diet plans claim to make people thinner within days. While some of it may be true, it should be clarified upfront that any weight loss plan is only a short term thing and should not even be considered for the long term. When practiced over a short period of time, a liquid diet plan can cleanse your body of its toxins, but over the long term, it will only rob you off the important nutrients that your body needs to survive on.

If you have made up your mind to follow a fat loss plan, you should know that the first thing you will need is the willpower. It is the willpower to do away with the solid foods and substitute them with liquids instead. Liquids can be classified into two broad categories-the clean liquids and the thick liquids. Generally speaking the full diet liquid diet plan is a little easier to follow because it still has foods that have the semblance of semi solids. Such plans can include things such as oatmeal, cream of wheat, vegetables that have been pureed, pudding and even ice-cream that is low fat.

The clear liquid fat loss plan on the other hand should only comprise of fruit juices that are clear, clear soups, coffee, tea (without sugar) and loads and loads of water. However make sure that you consult a doctor before you opt to go in for a liquid diet plan. A liquid diet plan is also not recommended for those who are dieting for the very first time, and have no prior experience. These are taxing diet plans that will help you lose weight alright but may have some temporary side effects too like having some headaches or low pressure.

You do not want to fall sick or faint because your body is not getting the required nutrition it needs to survive. The other thing about liquid diets is that you cannot resort to thick milkshakes that are full of fat and calories and do not do you any good. If you are a diet enthusiast and want to try out a liquid diet plan, check with a doctor, if your body is ready enough to take the kind of strain it requires. You can also make an attempt to test it out yourself. For starters, try substituting a meal with fluids. Use the full liquid diets such as oatmeal's etc to begin with and then move on to the clear soups, juices and the likes. Only if you are comfortable, you can move on to a full blown fat loss plan. It is evident that you will drink lesser calories than eating, but you have to get yourself accustomed to it only gradually.
